Fratelli Alessandria is one of the most long-standing wineries in the whole area, having already been operational around the middle of the 1800s, at the time of the birth of Barolo.

Giuseppe Dabbene began the construction of the Fratelli Dabbene winery.

The year of establishment of the Fratelli Dabbene winery, dedicated by Giuseppe Dabbene to his son Clemente with the engraving of his initials, CD, on the doorway at the entrance.

The “Primaria Adunanza dell’Associazione Agraria” was held at the Royal Estate in Pollenzo. The wines of Fratelli Dabbene of Verduno were awarded two gilded silver medals, one in the “Wine conservation” section and one in the “Good keeping of Tinaia and cellars” section.

Clementina Dabbene, the last member of the Dabbene family, married Carlo Alessandria, son of Antonio Giovanni, known as “Prinsiòt” (meaning “little prince” in Piedmontese dialect, presumably because he was an only child), and the name of the winery changed from “Fratelli Dabbene” to “Fratelli Alessandria”.

The birth of the DOC Verduno Pelaverga. Barolo “Monvigliero” 1995 was the first wine from Verduno to be assigned the then “legendary” Tre Bicchieri award.
